Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), or brittle bone disease, is a heterogeneous inherited condition and severe forms present already in utero. Persons with severe OI is affected throughout their lifetime with repeated, multiple fractures, short stature and orthopaedic problems, considerable pain and handicap.
